Job Summary
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for selling parts to customers over-the-counter, providing parts to the service department and body shop, and placing special orders. This position requires assisting customers in selecting and purchasing parts, ensuring accurate reading of manuals for specifications, providing pricing, dispensing parts, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean work area. Effective communication skills and intermediate knowledge of automotive parts and computer applications are essential. A valid driver's license is required, and regular attendance with adaptability to working evening hours, weekends, and holidays is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of automotive parts
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
- Intermediate ability and knowledge of the Parts portion of the Dealership Management System
