Job Summary
Manage a preschool classroom by creating a fun, welcoming environment and developing daily activities that support curriculum objectives through play. Oversee daily operations including scheduled projects, lesson plan implementation, and maintaining classroom cleanliness and décor. Assess each child's developmental needs through ongoing observations and implement the center's curriculum. Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to prepare for parent conferences and provide parents with updates during drop-off and pick-up. Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive team environment. Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and annual training to support accreditation goals.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Age 19 or older
- One (1) year of experience working in Early Childhood Education
- Teacher qualification for the state of Minnesota in accordance with Minnesota administrative rule 9503.0032
- Ability to complete all required licensing training upon hire
- CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to become certified within 90 days
- Ability to complete annual required training
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, climb stairs, crawl, sit, squat, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, and twist
- Ability to carry and lift 25 pounds or less, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, run short distances, and carry and lift 25-50 pounds
- Excellent long distance and near vision to monitor children's activities both indoors and outdoors in various light conditions
- Hearing capabilities to respond to children's needs and maintain safety in a moderately noisy environment
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting
