Job Summary
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive site-specific safety and health programs in compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are resolved. Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and emergency response training for employees and subcontractors while investigating incidents to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection logs, training records, and incident reports for regulatory audits. Act as a safety leader to promote a proactive safety culture across all construction sites, requiring travel to various project locations and the ability to work extended hours including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations
- In-depth knowledge of EM 385-1-1 standards
- Understanding of construction processes
- Understanding of the unique safety challenges presented by construction
- Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing as needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required
- Availability for extended hours, including weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant safety certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, OSHA 500, EM 385-1-1, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Experience with government contracts, particularly those requiring EM 385-1-1 compliance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Proficiency in safety management software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
