DoD SkillBridge: Rebuild Engine Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose, disassemble, inspect, clean, and rebuild failed jet-powered heating engines to restore them to factory performance standards. Perform operational testing before and after rebuilds to verify engine performance and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical failures. Document failure findings, replacement parts used, and testing results within company systems while maintaining organized inventory of replacement components. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to identify recurring failure trends and recommend improvements to rebuild procedures. Work in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and using precision hand and power tools.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Military experience maintaining aircraft, helicopters, turbines, generators, heavy equipment, diesel engines, or vehicle fleets
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience rebuilding mechanical equipment
- Ability to diagnose mechanical failures
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and service manuals
- Skilled with precision hand and power tools
- Understanding of bearings, seals, rotating assemblies, fuel systems, and mechanical components
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to quality workmanship
- Basic computer skills for repair documentation
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Bending, kneeling, using hand tools, and working around machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Pre-employment drug screening that tests for THC and other drugs
- Full background check
