DoD SkillBridge: Quality Control Manager (QCM)

Job Summary

Develop and maintain comprehensive quality control and assurance programs for construction and maintenance projects, establishing standards and conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements. Oversee contract negotiations, execution, and administration for all agreements, managing amendments, renewals, and performance monitoring while mitigating legal, financial, and operational risks. Lead project teams and subcontractors on quality procedures, maintain accurate documentation and reporting records, and provide mentorship to junior staff. This full-time role in Jacksonville, FL, reports to the Vice President of Construction and involves regular site visits, potential weekend work, and travel. Candidates must be active-duty U.S. Military Members eligible for the DoD SkillBridge Program.

Required Qualifications

  • Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control and contracts management
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, methods, and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation, and administration
  • Familiarity with federal government contracting requirements
  • Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as required
  • Willingness to work on weekends

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
  • Familiarity with federal government contracting requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Proficiency in quality management and contract management software
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure
