Job Summary

Coordinate and deliver multiple simultaneous Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, or Integrated Security projects in commercial buildings while strategically managing fiscal responsibility for project facets. Review project contracts, specs, and drawings to establish intent, develop schedules, manage supply requisitions, and conduct orientation for technicians. Document events impacting schedule and efficiency, pursue change-order opportunities, and complete project-specific close-out documentation. This internship provides hands-on experience for active-duty U.S. Military Members approved for the DoD SkillBridge Program, with candidates continuing to be paid under their current military wage and benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Active-duty U.S. Military Member
  • Qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude
  • Technical experience supporting mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, construction (MEP) or other related systems
  • Project management experience to include project scope, scheduling, documentation, resource allocation and fiscal responsibility
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work on-site and travel within assigned local area as needed
  • Legally authorized for employment in the United States
  • 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license with limited violations

Desired Qualifications

  • U.S. Military experience as an E5 or above (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves)
  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • (Automation specific) Experience in demand-side energy services or Certified Energy Manager
  • Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems
