Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains under supervision while performing preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service work. Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service bulletins; use diagnostic software and specialized tools to identify equipment issues. Document work performed, parts used, and labor hours in the shop management system. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and applicable safety standards. Communicate professionally with technicians, service managers, and customers regarding equipment status and repairs. Participate in on-the-job training and shadow experienced technicians across equipment specialties. Consistent and reliable on-site attendance required.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty service member approved for participation in the DoD SkillBridge Program with 180 days or fewer remaining before separation
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in a shop environment, including bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
- Consistent and reliable on-site attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Military experience in a mechanical, technical, or maintenance-related field preferred, such as wheeled or tracked vehicle maintenance, power generation equipment repair, or a similar military occupational specialty or rating
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read technical manuals and follow detailed repair procedures
- Willingness and ability to learn manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools and software
- Commercial driver's license
- Strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and professional communication skills
