Job Summary
Commission new Distributed Digital Control Systems on construction sites while ensuring all components function as required. Document commissioning details, communicate deficiencies and progress, and plan work with mentors and team leaders to meet timelines. Submit accurate daily time-keeping and weekly expenses. Travel throughout the Midwest region, including out-of-state overnight stays, to support HVAC controls, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, and security installations. Work between 6am and 6pm across Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Electro-mechanical knowledge/aptitude
- Technical experience supporting mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, construction (MEP) or other related systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and collaborate with team members
- Ability to work on-site and travel locally and through the Midwest region as needed
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with limited violations
- Minimum of 50% travel primarily throughout the Midwest
- Available to work between 6am - 6pm
- Formal approval to participate as a SkillBridge Intern in collaboration with Vets2PM's authorized DOD SkillBridge program
Desired Qualifications
- U.S. Military experience as an E5 or above
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Experience in demand-side energy services or Certified Energy Manager
- Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems
