Job Summary
Commission new Distributed Digital Control Systems on construction sites while documenting deficiencies and tracking progress with mentors and team leaders. Plan work to meet commissioning timelines, submit daily time-keeping and weekly expenses, and travel throughout the Midwest region including overnight stays. Work between 6am and 6pm across HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems. This internship offers hands-on experience in building automation and life safety technologies for active-duty military members, with potential placement at Siemens upon completion.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Member who qualifies for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED
- Electro-mechanical knowledge/aptitude
- Technical experience supporting mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, construction (MEP) or other related systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
- Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and collaborate with team members
- Ability to work on-site and travel locally and through the Midwest region as needed
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license with limited violations
- Minimum of 50% travel primarily throughout the Midwest
- Available to work between 6am - 6pm
Desired Qualifications
- U.S. Military experience as an E5 or above (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves)
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Experience in demand-side energy services or Certified Energy Manager
- Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems
