Job Summary
Manage all production employees and oversee shipping schedules based on raw and finished goods availability. Provide hands-on leadership as a working manager, directly responsible for employment decisions and facility compliance with Federal, State, and local laws. Drive safety improvements, implement cost-control initiatives, and maintain quality standards to support the Plant Manager in managing overall P&L performance. Assist with recruiting, training, and developing staff while driving efficiencies through transportation scheduling and driver management. This internship offers mentorship via weekly Zoom meetings and access to career development courses for active-duty military members transitioning to civilian roles.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory role
- Expert people management capability including non-exempt production workforce
- Experience managing safety performance and programs
- Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful
