DoD SkillBridge: Assistant Plant Manager

Job Summary
Manage production employees and oversee shipping schedules based on raw and finished goods availability. Provide hands-on leadership by directly handling all employment decisions, implementing cost-control initiatives, and driving safety improvements across the plant. Support plant administration for policy compliance and review operations activities including local transportation to maintain adherence to Federal, State, and local laws. Assist with recruiting, training, and developing staff while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards. Work in extreme conditions involving lifting up to 75 pounds and requires personal protective equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3+ years in a plant/warehouse supervisory role
- Expert people management capability including non-exempt production workforce
- Experience managing safety performance and programs
- Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics
- Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
- Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful
