Documentary Videographer & Photographer

Job Summary

Plan, shoot, and produce high-quality documentaries, interviews, and impact stories while capturing professional photographs of programmes, beneficiaries, and events. Manage the full production cycle from pre-production to final delivery, conducting interviews with stakeholders and traveling to project locations, schools, and communities. Edit documentaries, promotional videos, and social media content, ensuring all visual material aligns with brand guidelines and ethical storytelling standards. Operate and maintain professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, while organizing and securing archives of raw production files. Collaborate with Communications and Programme teams to develop compelling narratives and support live event coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years' professional experience in videography, photography, documentary filmmaking, multimedia production, or a related field
  • OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, Photography, Multimedia, Digital Media, Communications, or a related discipline
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
  • Professional certification in Photography, Cinematography, Film Production, Multimedia Production, or Digital Media is an advantage
  • Proven experience in professional videography, photography, documentary production, and visual storytelling
  • Demonstrable experience in video editing and post-production
  • A strong and relevant portfolio of work is required
  • Professional operation of DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras
  • Strong knowledge of lighting and professional audio recording
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Audition is an advantage
  • Experience with colour correction and colour grading
  • Knowledge of professional microphones, audio recorders, gimbals, stabilisers, and lighting equipment
  • Drone photography/videography experience and relevant certification are an advantage
  • Knowledge of social media video optimisation and digital asset management is desirable
  • Excellent visual storytelling and interviewing skills
  • Strong creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Adaptability and resilience in field environments
