Job Summary
Document Processing Specialist (Azure-based backend engineering) responsible for implementing Azure-based document processing pipelines for PDFs (iText, PDFTron), designing scalable backend services, and leading technical discussions. Focus areas include PDF generation, stamping, annotations, SVG to PDF conversions, redaction, form handling, merging/splitting, digital signatures, and handling edge cases like malformed files, font issues, internationalization, and accessibility. Build and optimize cloud-native microservices on Azure (App Services, AKS, Blob Storage, queues, SQL/Cosmos DB), monitor and debug production issues with Azure diagnostics, and mentor engineers on cloud/document-processing best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced level of English
- 3+ years of experience with iText and PDFTron in production environments
- Deep knowledge of PDF internals (fonts, annotations, AcroForms, metadata, security) and ability to interpret and apply the PDF specification
- Solid understanding of SVG format and SVG transformations
- Experience building APIs and microservices processing files or large binary data
- Experience with PDF/A, PDF/UA, and accessibility standards
- Experience with Java, Python or C# and .NET for backend services
- Strong knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, and resiliency patterns in distributed cloud environments
- Knowledge of digital signatures, certificates, and secure document workflows
- Experience with OCR solutions and document analysis pipelines
- Bonus Points: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related fields
- Experience with high-volume/batch document processing in Azure
- Exposure to frontend PDF rendering or annotation workflows
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-native systems in Microsoft Azure
