Job Summary
Entry-level Document Management Technician supporting the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, NY. Responsibilities include performing legal and administrative duties under supervision, assisting with case organization and maintenance (filing, retrieving, copying case file materials, creating witness binders, preparing deposition and trial exhibits), data entry into case files and databases, proofreading OCR’d text, providing printing assistance (tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents), filling out log sheets, reporting task progress, and performing quality control on peers’ work. Also prepares documents for image scanning and may perform document screening and labeling for scanning. The role emphasizes organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced litigation support environment. Qualifications emphasize the need for detailed, accurate work, ability to follow instructions, initiative to ask questions, and comfort with a government office setting. The position offers opportunities for growth with tuition reimbursement for Relativity certifications, ACEDS certification, and Paralegal certificates; DOJ MBI must be obtainable and US citizenship is required. The role is full-time with up to 10% travel locally and is on-site with government clients.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship required (DOJ MBI obtainable)
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Litigation support experience valued
- Ability to perform detailed work accurately under pressure
- Typing/keyboard skills
- Good communication skills
- Knowledgeable user of government office and network environment (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, telecommunications)
