Job Summary
As a Document Management Clerk, you will review, sort, and process incoming patient documentation from fax, email, mail, and internal systems; determine the appropriate placement of documents within the electronic medical record; scan and upload paper records into Epic and other electronic systems while maintaining accuracy and quality standards; organize and maintain both physical and electronic documents in accordance with organizational policies; ensure patient information is handled securely and confidentially at all times; respond to documentation and record requests from authorized healthcare professionals; track and monitor document workflows to ensure records are complete and up to date; collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient patient record management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management preferred
- 1–2 years of records management experience preferred
- Epic experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management principles
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle large volumes of documents accurately and efficiently
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
