Job Summary

Facilitate patient flow and assist the doctor in preliminary testing while verifying medical and vision insurances. Operate manual lensometer, auto-lensometer, autorefractor/keratometer, retinal camera, visual field, GDX, or OCT equipment following established scripting. Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers by answering inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests. Clean all examination equipment including tonometer tips and perform general office duties assigned by the manager. Comply with HIPAA policies and practice urgency to value patient and doctor time.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Favorable result on background check
  • Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs
  • Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work weekends, schedule changes or an extended schedule
  • Open availability to work any shift within hours Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-4pm

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Previous ophthalmic experience
