Job Summary
NOAA Fisheries field biologist role focused on collecting and QA/QC of biological samples, data entry into Oracle, and reporting; duties include identifying fish to species, collecting measurements, submitting dockside samples, updating HARs/WARs, and participating in outreach and scientific meetings; requires BS in Marine Science or related field and 3 years of relevant experience; US citizenship required; position onsite at coastal SE US locations (NC–TX) with contract award potential; expects field sampling, data management, and collaboration with head boat operators and anglers.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Marine Science or related field + 3 years relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of SE U.S. Atlantic marine fish identification
- Knowledge of data management and analysis of fishery data; ability to perform statistical analysis and provide results.
- Fish species identification
- Data entry and QA/QC using Oracle and MS Office
- Ability to collect biological samples per established protocols
