Job Summary
Dockhand duties include assisting guests with general boating needs under the direction of the Dockmaster, securing boats to docks, performing waste disposal and sanitation tasks, and maintaining clean and safe marina facilities. Responsibilities also cover routine cleaning to meet quality standards, compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, and fostering a friendly, professional working relationship with coworkers, guests, and vendors. The role requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds, comfort with swimming or wearing a life jacket in emergencies, and effective communication to convey directions to a team.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
- Some knowledge of marina operations or willingness to be trained in them
- Proven track record or innate ability to interface with customers positively and successfully
- Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets
- Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
- Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
