Job Summary
Docketing Specialist responsible for managing court and litigation deadlines using Aderant Milana; calendar all deadlines across federal, state, and arbitration rules; maintain litigation calendars and provide timely reminders, reports, and notifications to attorneys and staff; review filings to identify docketing requirements and ensure accuracy and timeliness; perform audits for compliance with jurisdictional rules; apply federal/state/arbitration rules for deadline calculations; stay current on rule changes and update calendaring protocols; train and support users; generate and distribute docket reports and deadline communications; assist with subpoena/deposition tracking, hearing schedules, and trial dates; collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation teams; potential evolution into centralized docketing support as the firm grows; hybrid role based in Sacramento or San Francisco.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of docketing experience
- In-depth understanding of civil litigation procedures, court rules (federal and state), and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in multi-office environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems (e.g., CM/ECF, PACER) a plus
