Job Summary
Facilitate efficient loading and unloading of freight at the trucking terminal using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Organize and sort incoming and outgoing freight by destination and shipping method while accurately documenting shipment details. Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and maintain clean, safe work environments by adhering to all safety protocols and reporting hazards. Collaborate with drivers and staff to coordinate freight movement and support inventory audits. Requires high school diploma, equipment operation skills, and flexibility for varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of manual labor, including lifting and moving heavy freight
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow safety guidelines
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and occasionally lift heavy objects
- Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant regulations
