Job Summary
Facilitate loading and unloading of freight at the trucking terminal using forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment; organize inbound/outbound freight by destination and shipping method; accurately document shipments (quantity, weight, destination); maintain safety and PPE compliance; operate material handling equipment safely; conduct routine equipment checks and assist with maintenance; collaborate with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to ensure timely, accurate movement of freight; inspect for damage or discrepancies and report issues; participate in inventory activities (cycle counts, audits) to maintain accurate records; follow OSHA safety guidelines; support terminal operations and adapt to varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in warehouse or dock work preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Physical strength and stamina for manual labor
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Teamwork and communication abilities
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to follow OSHA guidelines
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy objects
