Dock Supervisor

Job Summary
Monitor and evaluate the safety of each employee and ensure safe, efficient loading and unloading of freight throughout the shift. Supervise dock employees, manage work schedules, and assign tasks to meet operational expectations while maintaining housekeeping standards. Complete various company and government forms, including shipping orders and manifests, and operate proprietary technology systems to monitor shipment locations. Conduct daily inspections for OSHA and DOT compliance, verify trailer cleanliness and loading, and perform forklift operations as needed. Provide constructive feedback on productivity metrics and handle disciplinary actions. Work assigned shifts Monday through Sunday with hours to be determined.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 2 years working operations experience preferably in the transportation industry
- Supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems
- Knowledge of general DOT regulations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work Monday through Sunday
- Ability to work shifts and hours to be determined
- Ability to work depending upon customer pick-up and delivery scheduled
Desired Qualifications
- Some college
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems (listed as preferred in context of 'Some college preferred' and 'Bachelor's degree preferred' section)
