Dock Supervisor

Job Summary
Lead dock operations for an LTL environment by directing dock employees, setting targets, coaching, and ensuring schedule adherence and cost efficiency. Manage KPI achievement, safety compliance, and customer communications via phone, fax, or email. Responsible for dock planning, equipment movement, scheduling revision for efficiency, and handling all related paperwork. Requires prior dock/dispatch management experience in LTL, strong leadership, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities, and willingness to work 50 hours/week including nights/weekends. Must pass drug screening and background checks; authorized to work in the United States. Bachelor’s degree preferred alongside High School Diploma/GED. Regular attendance and adherence to company policies are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; Bachelor Degree preferred
- Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry
- Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow preferred
- Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area
- Must have strong leadership & people-management skills (hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor, terminate)
- Team building and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal/written communication
- Excellent planning and organization skills; proficient computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office)
- Must be willing to work 50 hours/week; all shifts including nights/weekends; ability to lift 20 lbs+
- Ability to read/interpret safety rules and procedures; meet deadlines
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks
