Job Summary
Lead a team of dock workers, providing direction and support while ensuring every shipment is loaded accurately, safely, and on time. Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for current staff. Oversee the loading of trucks, inspect and verify the condition of product to be shipped, and ensure proper use of equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Report discrepancies, damages, and shortages to the Warehouse Manager and oversee all paperwork associated with the dock. Enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries, conducting regular safety inspections and reporting any hazards. Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Manager to ensure smooth operations and operate delivery trucks as needed around the yard. Complete additional duties as assigned. Monday - Thursday 5:30 PM - 4:00AM.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet the physical requirements as outlined with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently and follow direction
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and warehouse safety procedures
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime or extended hours based on operational needs
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines
- Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
- Prior experience or certification on power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)
- Must be able to safely complete lifting up to 30 lbs regularly (15+ loads per hour)
- Must be able to safely complete lifting up to 50 lbs frequently (10-15 loads per hour)
- Must be able to safely complete lifting between 75–175 lbs occasionally (1–10 loads per hour)
- Must be able to stand and walk continually (5–8 hours per day) with occasional sitting (1–4 hours per day)
- Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, climb, squat, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive hand motions and fine motor tasks frequently to continually (3–8 hours per day)
- Must be able to safely operate delivery trucks around the yard
- Must maintain proper lifting posture and always follow all safe work practices
- Must be physically capable of performing repetitive motion and lifting tasks in a warehouse environment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Expertise in one or more functional areas within the warehouse
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Familiarity with order-picking systems, conveyor operations, or warehouse management technology
