Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair loading dock and doors while performing preventative maintenance on customer equipment. Drive to customer sites, parts pickups, and other locations to address on-site needs, making necessary repairs with customer approval. Maintain the company-owned service van and manage parts inventory, ensuring all paperwork, time, and parts are properly documented after each job. Order replacement parts and follow all safety procedures and company policies. Must be a certified welder or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a certified welder or able to obtain certification within the first 30 days of being hired
- Successful completion of the welder apprentice level or three years welding experience
- Ability to read and comprehend regulations and instructions written in the locally applicable language(s)
- Ability to perform duties at elevated heights
- Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill level
- Valid driver license and clean driving record must be maintained throughout employment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine correspondence
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and ability to perform these operations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to understand weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner
- Must frequently lift, carry, push, pull and /or otherwise move up to 25 pounds
