Job Summary
DNC Sales Director in Suzhou, China, leads sales growth and market expansion for the China region with a budget around 50M euro. Responsible for managing and growing a sales team (20+ staff), defining sales strategy in coordination with MD, BU CEO and AFC, driving targets and revenue, expanding market share, acquiring and retaining customers, managing sales pipeline from lead generation to closing, conducting market analysis, and collaborating with Marketing, PdMs and Operations. Oversees reporting to senior management, leads, mentors, and develops the sales team, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and travels extensively (>50%). Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry/Engineering (MBA/master’s preferred), 15+ years of experience including 5+ years in a key sales role in a multinational, and fluency in Chinese (mandatory) and English. Travel and multinational exposure, strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemistry or Engineering; Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, marketing. A master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years related working experience preferably in electro-chemistry
- at least 5 years in a key MBD/Sales role of a multinational manufacturing company
- Deep knowledge of Chlor-Alkaline products (caustic soda, chlorine, PVC, hydrogen), their technical applications, downstream industries, and global market dynamics
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies
- Strong understanding of the China market and cultural nuances
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Strong leadership and inclusive, team management skills
- Chinese mandatory. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to envision and drive change and innovation
- Ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment
- Travelling >50%
- Knowledge of CRM is a plus
