Job Summary
Maintain operational readiness before opening each day by interpreting regulations and Division policies to ensure accurate and timely assistance for customers navigating licensing processes. Anticipate customer needs and address concerns before they escalate while providing clear guidance to help individuals understand the driver license application workflow. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to maintain consistency across regions and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and streamline office operations. Participate in cross-training to improve office flexibility and support digital modernization initiatives through testing new workflows and technology. Maintain professionalism in all customer interactions to uphold high service standards and strengthen the Division's reputation statewide.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid N.C. Driver License with no suspensions or revocations within the past 10 years in any state for any motor vehicle-related offense and no more than 5 active points
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience explaining policy, procedure and/or laws to educate customers or the public
- Customer service experience (friendly, enthusiastic attitude who enjoys serving customers) with a diverse clientele
- Knowledge of basic computer software that includes database programs, Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly adapt to internal systems
- Work experience typing using a computer keyboard
- Experience with diverse groups
- Providing detailed information to the public
- Working in environments that require interviewing individuals to gather information
- Working knowledge of DMV policies and procedures
