Job Summary
Maintain operational readiness and uphold high service standards by ensuring every transaction delivers timely, respectful, and accurate assistance while anticipating customer needs and addressing concerns before they escalate. Provide clear guidance to help customers navigate the licensing process and collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency across regions in compliance with North Carolina laws and Division policies. Participate in cross-training to improve office flexibility and support digital modernization initiatives by testing new workflows and technology. Submit to a name-based and fingerprint-based criminal history record check as part of the conditional offer process, with orientation and first week of employment reported to DMV Headquarters in Rocky Mount, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid N.C. Driver License with no suspensions or revocations within the past 10 years in any state for any motor vehicle-related offense and no more than 5 active points
- Must be willing to travel during the day and overnight on short notice
- Must be available to report for orientation and first week of employment to DMV Headquarters in Rocky Mount, NC
- Must be able to undergo a background check which includes a name-based and fingerprint based criminal history record check
- Must have customer service experience with diverse groups
- Must have experience providing detailed information to the public
- Must have experience working in environments that require interviewing individuals to gather information
- Must have a working knowledge of DMV policies and procedures
- Must have a Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience explaining policy, procedure and/or laws to educate customers or the public
- Customer service experience (friendly, enthusiastic attitude who enjoys serving customers) with a diverse clientele
- Knowledge of basic computer software that includes database programs, Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly adapt to internal systems
- Work experience typing using a computer keyboard
