Job Summary
Evaluate instructor performance based on classroom observations, student feedback, and meetings to provide corrective feedback. Teach DMS classes as assigned and supervise the implementation of the approved course curriculum. Advise students on grades, attendance, and behavior upon instructor recommendation. Ensure compliance with ACCSC standards, state, and federal regulations while coordinating orientation for new students. Conduct regular department meetings and submit agendas, minutes, and sign-in sheets to the Corporate Director of Academic Operations. Interview and evaluate instructor applicants, provide orientation and training for new instructors, and train ongoing instructors on new content and equipment. Interface regularly with Admissions, Financial Aid, Placement, and the Registrar to ensure timely completion of student progress reports.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the DMS program requirements, accreditation, and approval standards
- Flexible leadership, coaching and development to faculty members who have a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to teach from a standardized curriculum
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching and working with adult learners

- Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact

- Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population of experiences, personal attributes and backgrounds
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to set goals and prioritize tasks and/or resources to accomplish those goals
- Effectively manage time and able to handle multiple tasks while completing them within assigned deadlines
- High degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities
- Knowledge of career opportunities and the expectations of the industry or profession for entry level employees' skills and experience
- Flexibility to meet schedules that include evening and possible weekend hours
- Minimum of three years' experience working in the field as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Current ARDMS Sonography Certification
