Job Summary
Collect biological samples including blood, urine, stool, and sputum from patients safely and hygienically. Perform a wide range of laboratory tests covering hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, serology, and routine urine and stool analysis. Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on auto-analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and other diagnostic instruments. Ensure all test results are accurately entered, verified, and reported in a timely manner while maintaining detailed records of tests, reagents, and equipment logs. Coordinate with treating physicians and nursing staff for integrated patient care and participate in internal and external quality control programs. Monitor inventory of reagents and consumables to avoid stockouts and ensure strict compliance with laboratory safety and biomedical waste management guidelines. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and stay updated with new diagnostic techniques and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) or BMLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology) from a recognized institution
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory, diagnostic centre, or hospital setup
- Proficiency in performing haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and urine analysis tests independently
- Working knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) or basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
- Sound understanding of biosafety guidelines, infection control standards, and biomedical waste disposal protocols
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, handle multiple samples simultaneously, and meet reporting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in Kannada, Hindi, and/or English
- Willingness to work in shifts if required
Desired Qualifications
- Valid registration with the relevant state or national laboratory technician board
