Job Summary
Serve as a subject matter expert to physicians and clinical staff, providing advanced product guidance, workflow consultation, and protocol development. Oversee DME coordination within the electronic health record system, ensuring accurate patient registration, scheduling, and compliance with time-of-service payment practices. Independently assess patient needs, perform measurements and fittings for orthopedic soft goods and functional bracing, and dispense prescribed equipment based on provider orders. Utilize Breg Vision to manage inventory, monitor utilization, and direct stock levels while providing consultative on-site support and resolving complex service issues across assigned accounts. Process warranty returns, coordinate prior authorizations, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to analyze data trends. Maintain accurate provider and product data, facilitate training for customer site staff, and ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a healthcare-related field
- Completion of an approved healthcare certification or certificate program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment
- Hands on experience in orthotics, athletic training, sports medicine, DME, or patient care
- Holds and maintains applicable certification or licensure such as American Board Certification (ABC) Certified Fitter-orthotics (CFo), Board of Certification (BOC), Athletic Training licensure, or Orthopaedic Technologist Certification
- Previous experience in DME
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)
- Understanding of where various data points and clinical information is located
- Knowledge of orthopedic bracing and supply products
- Knowledge of the applicable procedures for utilization
- Familiarity with standard workflows and procedures in orthopedic clinics or physician offices
- Computer proficiency including web browser/internet search, Microsoft (MS) Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams capabilities
- Technical competence including the ability to learn new software and systems
- Experience with practice management software (PMS)
- Experience with surgical scheduling and workflow management software
- Experience using artificial intelligence productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude
