Job Summary
Provide enhanced primary caregiving by assisting individuals with activities of daily living, including hygiene, personal care, nutritional oversight, and medication self-administration. Manage crisis situations and emergency medical responses while preparing clients for overnight routines. Facilitate community connections and supervise medical appointments to ensure presence in the community. Maintain confidentiality, complete mandatory training such as CPR/1st Aid, and accurately document all services daily. Submit monthly documentation to the supervisor and accommodate shift changes to meet required staff ratios.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- minimum of one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- ability to read, write, comprehend English
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions
- pass a criminal background check
- pass drug screening
- pass DMV check
- competence in all trainings listed above
- valid Georgia driver's license
- reliable transportation
- 21 years old
- current phone number
- ability to show competence in all trainings listed above
- working knowledge of The Arc of SWGA Mission and Vision
- knowledge and understanding of the agency's programs and services
- knowledge and understanding of the agency's accreditation process
