Job Summary
Employment Support Specialist helps diverse Canadians and newcomers achieve employment goals within the Integrated Employment Services program. Responsibilities include career exploration, goal setting, skills and interest assessments, interview preparation, and job readiness coaching; provide counselling, support disclosure of disabilities, and assist with resumes, applications, and labour market information. Role may require delivering components of the IES model, offering life-skills coaching, mentoring, and coordinating with service partners; ability to work in a fast-paced, outcome-based environment and deliver services in English and French when needed. The position supports remote delivery as required and requires availability to work evenings or weekends.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline
- 1-2 years’ experience in an Employment Services role
- Experience delivering outcome-based employment services
- Experience with EOIS CaMS or similar case-management systems
- Knowledge of Ministry Delivered Programs and related guidelines (Better Jobs Ontario)
- 2+ years’ experience in job search, job placement, incentives, or job retention
- 2+ years’ experience facilitating job search sessions in group settings with adult learners
- Ability to learn new technology tools (e.g., CETRA)
- Demonstrated knowledge of LMI and recruitment/community resources
- Ability to work with diverse groups (adults, youth, newcomers)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver services in English/French (asset)
- Experience administering/interpretation of Level B tests or related assessments (asset)
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends or split shifts (as necessary)
