Job Summary
Divisional Retirement Plan Counselor responsible for driving retirement plan sales momentum by educating and motivating financial advisers and intermediaries, delivering motivational and informative presentations, and collaborating with senior sales teams to identify opportunities for better plan sponsor and investor outcomes. The role requires extensive travel across New York State, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, a consultative sales approach, deep knowledge of retirement plans and mutual funds, and licenses such as Series 6/7 and Series 63/65/66 (or equivalents), with additional designations encouraged. The position emphasizes building long-term relationships, leveraging technological resources for analysis, and contributing to a high-performing sales organization with a hybrid in-person/virtual schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Licenses: Series 6 or 7 (or willing to obtain Series 7) and Series 63/65 or 66
- 5+ years of financial services sales experience
- Broad knowledge of mutual funds and retirement plan sales
- Ability to educate, train, and motivate financial advisers and other financial intermediaries
- Strong presentation and consultative selling skills
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 60% in person, 40% virtual)
- Proven track record of sales success in Retirement Plan Sales
- Proficient in leveraging technology for analysis and client communication
- Licensed or willing to obtain additional designations (AIF, AIFA, PPC, CIMA, CFA)
- Ability to articulate value to Plan Sponsors and investors
