Job Summary
Senior finance leader for a defense-focused division; hands-on working-controller role responsible for division financial close, government contract accounting, internal controls, and operational finance, ensuring alignment with parent company standards. Lead US GAAP close, prepare financial statements with variance analysis, support consolidation and intercompany processes, manage government contract accounting and compliance (FAR/DFARS/DCAA/ITAR), administer cost accounting (labor, material, overhead) and indirect rate structures, oversee contract setup, billing, and revenue recognition, lead standard costing, inventory valuation, and physical inventory governance, drive annual budgets and cash flow forecasts, own ERP data integrity, and drive post-acquisition integration and KPI reporting; lead and develop the accounting team and coordinate external audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3+ years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role within manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with US government contract accounting — FAR/DFARS, indirect rate structures, DCAA, and inventory accounting in defense/aerospace setting (preferred)
- Experience reporting into a parent company or corporate office, including consolidation and standardized reporting
- Strong US GAAP foundation, advanced Excel skills, ERP proficiency
- Independent and direct; able to work with ownership and minimal oversight
