Job Summary
Division Leader, Engineering & Infrastructure: lead and inspire a high-performing team responsible for municipal public works, land-use planning, and infrastructure assets (roads, water, wastewater, drainage). Develop and implement long-term engineering strategies aligned with municipal goals; oversee development approvals and zoning compliance; manage division budgeting and stakeholder relationships with developers, residents, and government agencies; supervise engineering projects from inception to completion while ensuring conformance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Transportation Engineering, P.Eng. license in Ontario, 5+ years of municipal public works experience, and proven leadership in a unionized environment. Strong knowledge of land use planning, development approvals, and infrastructure management; adept with relevant engineering software; excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience in municipal public works
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a unionized environment
- Strong knowledge of land use planning, development approvals, and infrastructure management processes
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and applications
