Job Summary
Own and manage a portfolio of Kroger Divisions and vendor accounts as the primary point of contact, conducting regular reviews to ensure satisfaction and alignment with client goals. Collaborate with leadership to identify expansion opportunities, support renewals, and manage annual budgets while monitoring activity to proactively identify risks or upsell opportunities. Drive platform adoption by providing ongoing support, insights, and best practices, and coordinate with internal teams to address technical, billing, or process challenges. Generate analytical content to respond to retailer questions and meet with stakeholders to refine service improvement plans. Execute field operations tasks focused on improving distributor service levels across store, district, and national levels. Requires 5+ years of DSD operational experience, 3+ years in account management, and 30-50% travel within the US.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct work experience in DSD operational roles
- 3+ years of experience in account management, client success, or customer-facing roles
- 3+ years of experience in CPG retailer operations and related activities, preferably retailer category management functions
- 4-year Degree or relevant work experience
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 30% up to 50% within the US
- Deep understanding of the elaborate retailer, manufacturer, and distributor relationship model, including service areas and product assortment variations by area
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, utilizing a consultative approach across both written and oral forms
- Proven ability to interact comfortably with a broad range of clients, from frontline field employees to Senior Executives
- Analytical mindset comfortable with reading usage data, interpreting metrics, and converting insights into executable action plans that create step-change improvements in service levels
- Proficient in productivity software (e.g., Google Workspace or MS Office)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically strong Excel reporting tools
- Strong conflict resolution skills to manage occasional customer service or operational situations
- Authorized to work in the United States and will not require a sponsorship now or in the future
- Comfortable working in both a controlled office environment with extended periods of computer work, as well as active retail settings
- Ability to effectively navigate various environments including driving, utilizing mass transit, and walking between sites/locations
- Capability to stand several hours at a time and walk extended distances daily while visiting multiple retail locations
- Ability to occasionally perform physical labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving product/equipment
