Job Summary
Speech Therapist delivers direct and indirect speech-language services to students in the educational setting under ARC guidance, aligning with IEP goals. Responsibilities include consulting on effective speech-language service delivery, coordinating assessment and therapy materials/equipment, developing and maintaining innovative programs for speech-language services, building staff development resources for speech-language pathologists, providing assessment and programming consultation for students with communication needs (including AAC), attending ARC meetings, coordinating and monitoring Medicaid Billing/records, and ensuring regular documentation of pupil progress. Requires Master’s in Communication Disorders, Kentucky DOE teacher certification for Speech and Communication Disorders (K-12), and ASHA CCC. Bilingual ability is a plus. The role emphasizes collaboration with education teams and ongoing program development; work is performed in a school setting with required attendance and data reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders
- Kentucky Department of Education Certificate for Teachers of Exceptional Children—Speech and Communication Disorders, Grades K-12
- Certificate for Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
