Job Summary
Implement teacher-developed strategies to maintain safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments while assisting in instructional practices and transitional activities. Provide direct support for health-related procedures including tube feeding, catheterization, toileting, and medication administration, ensuring students obtain quality instruction across school and non-school settings. Monitor student progress regarding academic, cognitive, and social development; record data on behavior goals and IEPs; and contribute objective information to facilitate planning and decision-making. Perform assigned clerical duties, operate adaptive devices, and assist students with community-based instruction and transportation logistics. Maintain confidentiality of student records and adhere to federal, state, and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or completion of an Associate's Degree
- Experience working with youth in an organized setting
- Some instructional experience in a classroom environment working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 50 pounds

- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency
