Job Summary
Special Education Paraeducator to assist certified teachers in implementing instructional practices, maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment, and collaborating with school staff to support students with disabilities. Responsibilities include implementing teacher-developed plans and strategies to enhance academic skills, assisting with health-related procedures and daily living activities (including lift up to 50 pounds), maintaining classroom records and attendance, supporting IEP implementation, administering/recording assessments as needed, and providing emotional and behavioral support aligned with PBIS and de-escalation guidelines. Requires communicating effectively with students, families, and staff, following district policies, and contributing to professional development for paraprofessionals. Qualifications call for a minimum of 48 college credits or an associate degree, with experience in working with youth in diverse settings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or completion of an Associate's Degree
- Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
