Job Summary
Instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times while planning programs of study that meet individual student needs and abilities. Create conducive learning environments, employ varied instructional techniques, and guide lessons toward curriculum goals with clear objectives. Assess student accomplishments regularly, diagnose learning disabilities, and maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy. Encourage students to maintain classroom behavior standards, protect student safety and facilities, and assist administration in implementing policies governing student conduct. Plan and supervise instructional teacher aide assignments, attend staff meetings, and remain available to students and parents outside the instructional day when requested.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for Special Education
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency
