Job Summary
District-Wide Substitute Teacher position in Urbana School District 116 responsible for covering any grade level or subject across multiple buildings, following existing lesson plans, maintaining classroom environment, supervising students, recording attendance and progress, collaborating with staff, and completing required trainings. The role requires flexibility to move between buildings, adapt to various classrooms, and travel within the district as assignments arise. The substitute is non-long-term and must respond to daily assignments communicated by the Substitute Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Illinois Substitute License or Professional Educator License
- Must have willingness and ability to get to any of the school buildings within 30 minutes of learning the day's assignment
- Must be willing and have the transportation to be relocated, on occasion, from one building to another building during the day when needed
- Must have phone and/or email connection to receive assignments in the morning between 7:00 - 8:00 AM
Additional Requirements
- Must have willingness and ability to get to any of the school buildings (UECS, Leal, Thomas Paine, Wiley, King, Dr. Williams, Yankee Ridge, UMS, UHS (including Wesley Foundation), or Gerber) within 30 minutes of learning the day's assignment
