Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while accommodating individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology to support student learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing and modify curricula for special education students per Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Direct the work of assigned instructional aides and volunteers. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records. Establish professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and community members. Comply with state, district, and school regulations, attend faculty meetings, and participate in staff development activities. Maintain emotional control under stress and follow safety protocols, including emergency procedures and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, an approved internship, or related work experience
