Job Summary
Conduct English/Spanish translation services for district staff, teachers, students, and families to facilitate communication. Complete document translation and organize interpreting services for parent/teacher conferences and open houses. Assist the Parent Information Center in registering non-English speaking families and provide technical support for accessing translated materials from the Department of Education. Translate critical information for websites and public venues while building partnerships with local agencies to develop volunteer programs. Respond to emergency translation needs for all schools. Maintain accurate records and operate standard office equipment. Requires a valid Georgia driver's license, bilingual proficiency, and ability to work flexible hours including some lifting and crawling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish
- Reliable transportation between sites
- Valid Georgia driver's license
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint
- Background Clearance
- Fair Labor Standards Act
- Non-Exempt
Desired Qualifications
- College training and/or academic preparation in both English and Spanish preferred
