Job Summary
District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts under the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader, support pharmacy teams in safe and accurate dispensing, immunizations, and patient care, coach the team, manage inventory with focus on cold chain, and ensure compliance with laws and CVS policies. DSPs deliver clinical care such as testing and prescribing where permissible, maintain pharmacy workflow and safety, and act as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts while stationed in CVS Pharmacy locations across the district. They must possess an active pharmacist license, an active NPI, and be compliant with regulations; duties include counseling patients, immunizing, resolving insurance and medication issues, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role requires travel within a reasonable radius, regular attendance including nights and weekends, and a commitment to a comprehensive benefits package.
