Job Summary
District Safety Manager responsible for leading safety programs and initiatives within NUCO2. Responsibilities include collaborating with field management, operations, and safety teams to promote personal ownership of safety; leading emergency response planning, safety award programs, hazmat/CDL certifications, and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and FDA requirements; coordinating safety training; conducting accident investigations with root cause analysis and preventive actions; serving as the primary contact for workers' compensation and general liability processes; providing analytical support with KPI dashboards; facilitating Safety Committee Meetings and facility inspections; ensuring post-accident drug screens; training drivers on tools, equipment, and safe driving practices; and maintaining accurate safety records and regulatory submissions. Education: Bachelor's Degree related to Safety preferred. Certifications: First Aid/CPR certified and CDL driving license. Skills: strong communication and interpersonal abilities, experience with safety training development and delivery, familiarity with regulatory inspections, and proficiency with standard software tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree related to Safety preferred
- High School diploma required
- Commercial Driver’s License – Minimum Class B
- HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct accident/injury scene investigations and root cause analysis
- Ability to perform Onsite DOT, OSHA, and FDA inspections
- EPA and hazardous waste spill reporting requirements and recovery procedures
- Experience in safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online document management software
- Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in similar industry
