Job Summary
Lead curriculum leadership and support classroom teaching to ensure an aligned instructional program in the assigned subject area. Work cooperatively with directors and principals to develop and supervise instructional programs, coordinating the review and revision of curriculum guides, course outlines, and teaching plans. Oversee testing programs, evaluate instruction effectiveness based on student achievement data, and recommend improvements. Plan and deliver staff development for teachers and administrators, disseminate current research, and observe classroom instruction to provide feedback and demonstrate strategies. Maintain a resource library, manage departmental budgets for supplies and equipment, and compile all required reports and records.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from accredited university with a major in assigned subject
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- 5 years teaching experience in subject area assigned
- Frequent districtwide travel
- Occasional statewide travel
