Job Summary
Patrols district campuses to enforce laws, respond to crisis calls, investigate offenses, collect and preserve evidence, arrest perpetrators as needed, and file legal incident reports. Cooperates with other police agencies, provides traffic control at events, protects district personnel, and operates district equipment including firearms. Requires a High school diploma or GED, Texas Peace Officer License, and a valid Texas driver’s license; must pass physical, psychiatric, and drug tests; skilled in criminal investigation, police reports, and criminal law; ability to work with youth and adults. Supervisory responsibilities: none. Location: Hempstead, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Texas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- General knowledge of criminal investigation, police report writing, and criminal laws
- Training and ability to subdue offenders, including use of firearms and handcuffs
- Ability to pass physical, psychiatric, and drug tests
- Ability to work well with youth and adults
