Job Summary

District Manager role overseeing multiple retail convenience/fuel locations; accountable for leading a field-intensive operation across an assigned territory, developing people and optimizing profitability through strong leadership, operational excellence, and P&L oversight. Responsibilities include recruiting and staffing, coaching and performance management, conducting store visits, ensuring fuel operations and pricing discipline, merchandising and promotions, vendor and product knowledge, inventory management, PDI/store accounting, labor productivity, loss prevention, cash handling audits, lottery and compliance, and establishing KPI-based performance measures across stores. Requires proven multiunit retail leadership, ability to work on-call, and a solid MS Office skillset; extensive knowledge across retail operations, cross-training, and strong customer service orientation.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years+ prior experience in a retail multiunit role, in Convenience Store industry (Direct Operations)
  • MS Office tools such as Excel
  • Experience with people development, Loss Prevention techniques, Labor Management and other key facets of retail operations
  • PDI experience Highly/desired
  • Able to be on call/reachable to support your team and ensure fully open operations
  • Good driving record

  • Effective Store visits: Has a planned store visit agenda, takes notes, agrees action items
  • Operational knowledge & skills: the DM Develops within themselves and disseminates knowledge in the following areas
  • Fuel Operations and pricing strategy/execution: DM seeks 100% in service for fueling dispensers> understands the basic fuel system operations including Tanks, dispensers, sump pumps, ATGs and safety. Ensures employees are trained in Class ABC training as required. Monitors execution of fuel pricing, grade spreads with utmost promptness.
  • Store Merchandising, Marketing, & Sales Building: DM ensures stores maintain instock level/minimize product holes
  • Vendor & Product Knowledge: Monitors Vendor performance and communications issues and challenges to marketing team
  • Inventory Management; the DM understands and guides their team to effective use build to based ordering
  • PDI & Store accounting: DM is a subject matter expert on PDI platform
  • Labor and Productivity Management: Ensures stores operate within allowed hours
  • Loss Prevention & investigation: Daily reviews and investigates cash variances and reports on TEAMS findings
  • Monitors Cash Over/Short $
  • Monthly: Oversees and conducts field cash audits
  • Daily: Reviews cash reconciliation and pulls other LP reports
  • Lottery
  • Oversees lottery audits
  • Inventory
  • Monitors and investigates cigarette inventory for dead and slow cigarettes
  • Payroll
  • Checks payroll for supervisor adjustments (Manager timecards)
  • Surveillance and monitoring equipment
  • Monitors Guardian, TC2.0, and other reports for all stores opening, early to close, late to open
  • Investigation and reporting
  • Conducts investigations regarding loss
  • Represents the company in court appearances for charges filed and restitution
  • Reviews Loyalty reports for employee abuse
  • Pulls, creates, and sends reports to management
  • Establishes and oversees company audit procedures and polices
  • Audits retail locations against policy and performance standards
  • KPI’s, reporting & performance measures
