Job Summary
District Manager oversees operations for 5-7 Deli/Bakery locations in the Los Angeles area from a home-based office, with frequent travel to military bases (primarily by car, occasional air travel). Responsibilities include operations and financial management, coaching local managers, ensuring compliance with military regulations and company policies, staffing, training, product presentation, inventory reviews, and driving sales while managing labor costs and margins. Lead and mentor managers and shift leaders, recruit top talent with HR collaboration, and maintain high customer service levels across stores, using DeCA surveys to monitor performance and drive improvements. Requires at least 2 years of management experience in food service, Food Safety Manager Certificate (or willingness to obtain), valid driver's license, and ability to pass a military background check.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience in food service (deli/bakery experience preferred)
- Experience in retail supermarket chains or multi-unit operations
- Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in financial analysis and business performance assessment
- A Food Safety Manager Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a military background check for base access
